Turkey currently has 18 free economic zones with special tax and customs regimes. In essence, these are domestic offshore zones. They have existed since 1986, usually near ports, but in recent years they have become actively developed in other areas - heavy industry, agro-industrial complex, IT.
FEZs in Turkey are divided into two types - organized industrial zones (OIZ) and technological development zones (TDZ).
What are the advantages of registering a company in a FEZ?- FEZ resident companies are exempt from paying income tax on exported goods;
- Employees of resident companies are exempted from income tax if at least 85% of the company's production is exported;
- FEZ residents do not pay real estate tax on FEZ territory;
- Goods supplied to FEZ from the customs territory of Turkey are exempt from VAT;
- FEZ residents do not pay stamp duties.
